This weekend, you can play Assassin's Creed Valhalla for free.

If you're searching for something to play this weekend that isn't Elden Ring, Horizon Forbidden West, Dying Light 2, or Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin's Creed Valhalla could be worth a look. On Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Stadia Pro, and Amazon Luna, the next instalment in Ubisoft's long-running franchise is available for free right now. Until February 28th, you'll get full access to the game.

Players can assume the role of Eivor, a Viking invader who travels across ninth-century Norway and England. You may lead attacks against strongholds and enemy areas, establish your own town, and customise Eivor to fit your preferences.

The free weekend came ahead of the release of "Dawn of Ragnarok," a paid DLC dubbed by Ubisoft as the "biggest ambitious expansion" in the franchise's history. On March 10th, that will be delivered.

The trial excludes the expansions for AC Valhalla, but given that the main plot may take up to 60 hours to complete, it's doubtful you'll get that far by Monday anyhow. If you wish to continue Eivor's journey after February 28th, AC Valhalla is presently on sale across all platforms.
